Parks in Bangkok

We know that you could be forgiven for believing that there are no parks in Bangkok or green areas to be found in the Thai capital. Where would these parks be in a city where overall space is at a premium – concrete apartments and high-rise hotels appear to merge into each other. But the city is actually home to some wonderful parks in Bangkok. These parks and gardens make for an excellent place to unwind and take pleasure in some tranquility – well away from the bustle of Bangkok.

Lumpini Park is the most popular park for exercising and working out. There are loads of people (Thai and foreign) taking part in running, yoga, dancing and aerobics every morning and afternoon. Suan Rot Fai Park provides loads of shade and is open up to cyclists and runners all the time. The area used to be a golf course, so there’s lots of green areas, ponds and beautiful old trees.
